The historic opera house in Virginia City once again plays host to musical prowess and the performing arts
VIRGINIA CITY, Nevada (May 9, 2023) – Historic Piper’s Opera House in Virginia City, Nevada, hosts Black Irish Band, May 20, 2023, on the same stage that once welcomed President Grant, Buffalo Bill, Al Jolson, Mark Twain and many more icons of days gone by. Today, the famed opera house plays host to performing arts once again in hosting a band with Celtic, Spanish and Italian roots performing historic songs of miners, cowboys, railroaders, sailors and more.
Hailing from Gold Rush Country, the four-member Black Irish Band has performed more than 500 concerts around the world, creating an original sound of progressive folk music. They excel at Irish and Scottish, Italian, and American folk music with an assortment of original songs and traditional western ballads with a musical style that captures the spirit of the men and women who tamed the Wild West. The band boasts 25 album recordings and nearly 100 original songs.

Also May 20, Virginia City hosts Chili on the Comstock, a chili tasting and craft beer tour event from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. May 20 and 21.
